Animation Modes

In my final project i am going to use some Olan Mills family portrait photographs i found in the trash 2 years ago. With these photos i am going to create a family relationship and have a little girl narrate the relations while animating the photographs. I will mostly use photoshop and after effects once i have scanned the images in. I think it will be quick like the Chel White writing process animation. I also want to utilize 3D cameras and create a 3D space that all of the photographs are in so that i can zoom around at fast speeds.

I want the girls voice to be sort of naive and young sounding. It will be as if she doesnt know any different than her strange, dis functional family.
Here is the script. the lines in green are what i will be animating.

A family portrait.

This is me. I am 12 years old. The 3rd child of Greg and Marcy Portacelli
This is a photo of my family from a couple years ago. Its the only “acceptable family photo” according to my mom who threw a fit when my brother died his hair. My mom knows a lot about our family so I ask her a lot.

This is my aunt. My mom says that she is unemployed because at job interviews she only gives a teacher from high school as her reference. She also takes a lot of pills. That’s why she married Billy my mom said. He has lots of nice things.

Billy was gone for a while. So Joann moved in with us. She met Herman, a marine. They got married. Then one day Billy came back and the police were asking about Herman.

These are my cousins and their dog. They get Christmas cards made every year and we hang them on our fridge. Its always been Julia, Bryan, and Bernard. This yearit was just Bernard.

My cousin Candace is a nurse. She works part time as a bartender down at Caballera’s. my mom wont let us go eat there. My uncle Shawn hasn’t worked in a year because he claims that he is related to R. Kelly. He claims that at a concert R. Kelly looked directly at him and said “das ma brotha.”

This is Rod; I think he is my uncle. He is a genius. He plays football in college. Sometimes my mom tells people that Rod is her son.

This is Tameka. Her husband Trevon got into some trouble growing plants, so Tameka cant see him anymore. Shes part of my dad’s side of the family.
We don’t get to see them much because they live in Chicago.

These are my two grandmothers. Both of my grandpas died before I was born. Grandma Betty sells cooking equipment on TV. Mom says its nothing to be proud of, but I like to find her on TV sometimes. Nicole is a Jeweler at Sears. She always has the prettiest gold and silver. One Christmas she gave me a necklace with a silver K on it for Kaitlyn. Mom still won’t let me wear it.

This is kinda what my After Effects project would look like with all the photos at different places in the 3D space. With the camera tool i can zoom to each , then animate them, zoom to another.
